Located in a safe town on the Yorkshire Coast, English in Scarborough offers a friendly environment where international students come together to learn English.

Yes, we try to mix nationalities as much as possible so you are encouraged to speak English and you can meet new friends from other countries. It’s likely that you will be in a class with at least two different nationalities.
The number of students and mix of nationalities in a class depends on what course you book and in which month you attend the school.
On completing the course you will be presented with an EiS certificate of attendance showing the level you have achieved during your study.
We usually organise accommodation for students.
There are choices to suit all budgets and preferences. We recommend staying with a homestay provider to truly immerse yourself in English language & culture, but can also organise residential, hotel, or guest house accommodation if preferred.
Most homestay providers live close to the school. Almost all of them live within 30 mins walking distance. Those who live more than 30 mins away will drive you to school.
Homestay hosts will provide you with breakfast, a packed lunch and a shared evening meal every day. You can eat your packed lunch at school between 13:00 – 14:00, when we have our lunch break.
The summer vacation course includes afternoon and evening activities.
Students on other courses have an optional social programme with some free and some paid-for activities.
Activities cater for all ages, and include beach volley, disco night and sports; arts & crafts, garden games and theme parks; theatre evenings, pub nights and museum visits. We’re also working on a purpose-built escape room and interactive treasure hunt. Watch this space!
